Why is the microstock agency or software that I'm using not able to correctly read the metadata from the PNG files?
We include the metadata for title, description and keywords in the PNG files. The problem is that the PNG format doesn't officially support those fields, so some programs and agencies are able to read them, others are not.
The generated keywords (or the titles and descriptions) aren't compatible with one of the microstock agencies on which I upload my images to. What should I do?
We do our best to ensure the maximum compatibility of our service with the most popular microstock agencies. If one of the agencies isn't compatible, please contact us and we'll do our best to fix the problem.
A section of the website isn't working as expected. What should I do?
Please contact us as soon as possible, and we'll fix the problem.
Why can't the software recognize a place or an event, and can't index my editorial images properly?
Our tool isn't made to identify specific places or locations, or for indexing editorial images. Sometimes it may still identify the most popular places correctly. If your images have gps data in them, you can enable the "Read geolocation metadata" option, so the AI will be able to read the exact location of your images and tag them accordingly.
Why have some of my files been renamed?
Because you've probably used special characters that, due to compatibility issues, we can't keep in the name of your file. We strongly suggest you to only use letters, numbers, spaces, underscores, round brackets and the minus sign. The names of some files may be also shortened automatically by our system if they are 245 characters or longer. Please note that some non-english characters may be considered longer than they appear.
Some of the files I uploaded to Shutterstock or another microstock agency didn't receive their metadata after I imported the CSV. Why?
Microstock agencies match each CSV row to a file by filename, and the match must be exact (character-by-character). There are a few common reasons it may fail:
1) Problematic characters in filenames. The comma is the most common offender: it has been confirmed to break Shutterstock's CSV parser, and may have similar effects on other agencies. Square brackets [ ] are also known to prevent files from being uploaded to Shutterstock altogether. We strongly recommend using only letters, numbers, spaces, underscores, round brackets and the minus sign in your filenames. The same warning is shown directly inside the CSV download modal whenever we detect problematic filenames in a batch.
2) Different browsers used for the two uploads. If you upload the files to PhotoKeyworder.ai using one browser, and then upload the same files to the agency using a different browser (a typical case is Safari vs. Chrome or Firefox on macOS), accented or special characters in filenames may be transmitted in slightly different forms under the hood, causing the match to fail silently. To avoid this, use the same browser for both uploads.
3) Intermittent issues on the agency's side. Shutterstock's Catalog Manager is known to occasionally drop CSV imports without warning, especially with large batches. If everything looks correct on your side, try splitting the upload in smaller batches of 5-10 files and re-importing the CSV.
The keywords generator is a little slow in processing my images. Will it be faster in the future?
Our system is tuned to achieve the best results, and not to be particularly fast. We need a lot of computational power to process your images and videos. Please also note that the upscaler may be particularly slow, especially if many people are using it at once. So, if you are in an hurry, we suggest you to not use the upscaler.
